Screw Piles

Here's how screw piles work

Screw piles are mechanically "screwed" into the ground using hydraulic machinery. The helical plates on the shaft create a corkscrew-like motion, allowing the pile to be rotated into the soil.

The load-bearing capacity of a screw pile comes from both the end-bearing resistance of the helical plates on the tip and the frictional resistance along the length of the shaft against the surrounding soil.
